Stoke By Nayland – Laboratory Refurbishment
The Challenge
Stoke By Nayland Campus, part of One School Global, had two rooms next to each other, one being a music room and the other a store room.
They currently had a traditional laboratory set up and wanted the new lab to provide a collaborative teaching environment with a pre-room. There was also asbestos in the ceiling that needed to be removed.
The Solution
BrookhouseUK created 3D visuals along with 2D plans showing specific layouts of both rooms, which enabled the leadership team to obtain their funding. The new design required the wall to be removed and a wind-loading post installed along with a new wall to create a prep room with access from the teacher’s desk.
Perimeter storage cupboards with Trespa tops provided helpful storage and workspaces. Semi-circular workstations were also provided to provide an area where the students could carry out theory and practical.
