Heston Community’s Washroom Refurbishment

Heston Community approached us as they needed a washroom refurbishment of their rundown and used facilities. After fitting brand new lavatories, privacy dividers, urinals, sinks, taps and hand drying facilities we have completely modernised their previously dull facilities.

Adopting a modern and simplistic design that would last for decades, it is clear now that the state of the brand new washrooms is now creative, and an inviting atmosphere. Using automatic taps and hand drying systems to reduce the transfer of bacteria is just one of the many ways we have inspired this washroom facility at Heston Community. Fitting new tiling, paint and lighting has made this once bland room, more alive than ever.

Working with Heston Community was a project that we are very proud of, here at BrookhouseUK, we worked with Heston and went through designs and initial briefings to understand the clients each and every requirement to make sure that they are satisfied with the result.

It is clear in the pictures below that the washroom was a huge success and will be remembered for decades to come.

Crown Lane’s Washroom Refurbishment

Brookhouse UK was given the privilege of being tasked with the washroom refurbishment of some of Crown Lane Primary School and Children’s Centre facilities. Located in Lambert Square, London, the school got in touch with us as they wanted to work closely with a reputable educational refurbishment company that could help them achieve the results they were looking for.

As a company, we have taken great pride in the reaction from the school’s faculty, pupils and parents alike. This demonstrates our potential for creating functional facilities that impress a wide range of ages! Our dedication to designing new environments and facilities that suit our ever-changing modern world is now more paramount than ever, and we endeavor to keep building upon this dedication as we transform educational facilities throughout the London area.

Ofsted described the school as being “highly inclusive,” a phrase that represents their dedication to providing excellent educational facilities for a range of students. Achieving and respecting true diversity is one of the key goals they strive towards as a community, and this is evident throughout the designs we implemented throughout the premises.

Crown Lane was also recently awarded the IQM Centre of Excellence award for 2019 – 2020. Within this report, the children have demonstrated how pleased and proud they were to be able to show off their new facilities. As inclusion remains something the school focuses on, their new gender-neutral toilet provisions allow the children to learn more about the idea of diversity within their thoughtfully designed educational settings.

Bourne Hall’s Washroom Refurbishment

Bourne Hall approached us to refurbish their mens and ladies washrooms as they felt they needed a refresh and wanted to see the difference that we could make to their current washrooms. After stripping the current washrooms, we began to design and build the space from the ground up, adopting a minimalistic yet stylish approach that doesn’t hinder the washrooms’ functionality.

Bourne Hall is a popular location and the washroom refurbishment project is going to be attended by plenty of people daily, so it was important that it was easy to maintain, yet functional at every hour of the day, adopting for easy to refill dispensers,  automatic stainless steel taps, and refillable BlueOcean toilet roll dispensers.

We worked very, very closely with the facilities managers at Bourne Hall to make sure that we delivered the perfect project that we had promised, making sure that it met every requirement, including a speedy delivery.

‘Brookhouse has refurbished public conveniences at Bourne Hall Pavilion, Ewell. We were impressed with the produced design and the fact that completed work was even better that on a CGI proposal. Moreover, the quality was good and the project was completed right first time without any outstanding items. We would like also to highlight that the work was programmed excellently by avoiding noisy and inconvenient works during working hours which ultimately relieved us from possible complaints and reduced inconvenience. And most importantly, the work has been completed under the budget which allowed us to achieve our financial targets for savings this year’

Watford Grammar’s Laboratory Refurbishment

Founded in 1708, Watford Grammar School for Girls boasts a rich history in terms of empowering its alumni to grow into strong-minded young women. Despite the school’s traditional roots, one of the criteria that parents and students are increasingly pedantic about when selecting a school is dependent on its capability to adapt to the ever-changing times we live in today. Innovations are constantly emerging at a rapid pace, and it’s vital that educational organisations are on board with the changes that these innovations bring.

The school’s motto is Sperate Parati, which translates to “Go forward with preparation.” Watford Grammar School for Girls is intensely passionate about preparing its pupils for the future world of work, an intention that requires a keen perseverance with regards to maintaining state-of-the-art learning spaces. It immediately became clear to us that Watford Grammar required us to both revitalise and modernise their facilities, keeping them up to date with recent innovations and technologies. We provided them with fresh new spaces, brightly lit with natural lighting from outside that refreshes the mind, all while supporting the school’s motto.

Equality is a core value within the school, so all workspaces we designed are kept uniform and equally equipped with state-of-the-art facilities. The idea of living harmoniously amongst others is another key part of their philosophy. We therefore designed the school’s new workspaces to evoke a sense of harmony between students, the teacher and the outside world. We did this by providing students with enough personal space while they work and keeping workspaces equally spaced apart.

Designing spaces that prompt collaborative learning is also a must in any modern educational setting. Watford Grammar encourages participation and teamwork, building confidence for the future. Open desk spaces allow students to move freely between workspaces, allowing them to engage with others as and when is necessary.

One of the school’s favourite sayings states, “I can do it, and I will do it,” which exemplifies their dedication to encouraging a strong sense of determination and willpower within their pupils. After witnessing the student cohort’s excellent work ethic during our initial site visit to the school, we understood that this was an organisation based on celebrating hard work and persistence. Due to the school’s emphasis on building a strong work ethic within its pupils, spaces are kept modern and minimalistic. This ensures there are minimal distractions to divert the students’ attention from their tasks, enhancing concentration levels and overall performance.

At Brookhouse UK, we always work responsibly and diligently when considering the requirements of each learning environment. For example, an IT department will have widely varying requirements in comparison to a creative arts department. Designing encouraging spaces that with an emphasis on improving utility and function is especially important to us. The clean, bright rooms we refurbished for their science labs evoke a hygienic feel, which is extremely effective within a space that must uphold strict health and safety standards.

Once the project was completed, the results were immediately clear to teachers and pupils alike. The refreshed learning spaces inspired students to work increasingly harder towards achieving their academic goals, which will give them a great advantage when it comes to developing their professional futures. We were successful in designing invigorating new environments for the pupils at Watford Grammar School for Girls to work within, allowing them to fulfil their potential and pursue their goals.
