School Food Technology Classrooms – Layouts

A food technology classroom needs to be well planned and equipped.

Good classroom flow is essential to enable students to participate in group work as well as work on individual pieces of practical cookery.

Our furniture and storage designs ensure that cooking utensils and equipment are stored safely but readily available for use.

All our designs enable the teaching of safe, hygienic and informed practices in food preparation.

We can design and fit out food technology classrooms with equipment to cover a full range of activities:

  • Research & Evaluation – Clean spaces with large tables and networked computers for research and report writing
  • Creative Work – We can supply the full range of cooking appliances and fume extraction equipment so students can be creative in their study
  • Presentation – Interactive whiteboards, projectors, video & audio equipment for remote learning

Safe and secure storage of equipment is always factored into our classroom designs to ensure equipment can only be used by students when needed or removed by authorised staff.

We can supply and install basic electric ovens and domino hobs through to steamers, combination ovens, commercial ovens, commercial ranges and hobs as well as bulk refrigerators and freezers.

We have a range of commercial worktops including including DuPont (Corian®) and Stainless Steel together with associated sinks and cleaning stations.

Academic Study & Qualifications

The key focus of our classrooms and furniture design is not just learning enjoyment, but also academic study! We ensure that the design can facilitate subject lessons from Key stage 3 and Key Stage 4 for Food Tecnology to enable students to reach their goals in either AQA, OCR, CCEA, WJEC, SQA, Edexel and City & Guilds GCSE, AS, A Level, BTEC examinations and associated qualifications.
